Meet Our Staff


  Marcia L. Brands, MA, LCADC
  Executive Director


 Marcia was appointed Executive Director of New Views in July 2008 and began her tenure just two days before the agency moved into its new quarters at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital.

 An alumni of Montclair State University with a graduate degree in administration and training, and a New Jersey Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Marcia has a private clinical practice in Denville and is a principal in a management consulting company in Cedar Knolls.  She has more than twenty years of clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient addiction settings with a specialization in co-occurring disorders.  For the past fifteen years, she has provided technical assistance in
program operations, quality improvement systems and customized trainings to
various behavioral health agencies throughout the state.

Marcia has volunteered in several community agencies and been a member and
officer of various local, county, and statewide boards.  She is past Chair of the
Morris County Mental Health/Substance Abuse Advisory Board and has dedicated
her career to counseling, education, advocacy and support of recovery from
addiction.

  Iris Aceituno
  Clinical Aide


  In her role at New Views, Iris provides general administrative and clerical support to the Program Coordinator and counseling staff.  She is currently attending school for her Associates Degree in Business.  Iris' life experiences have given her an interest in this field.  She appreciates being able to assist others through her own experiences.

   Diane Ballard, M.Ed., LPC, CADC, NBCC
   Counselor


   Diane has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in agency counseling from William Paterson University, a Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CADC), a National Certification in Counseling (NCC), and  a License in Professional Counseling (LPC).  She has worked for over two decades with a co-occurring population that is both chemically dependent and mentally ill.  She has done assessments, conducted group and individual counseling, and worked as a team member to implement treatment plans for this population.  She has basic conversational skills in sign language.  She has volunteered at Jersey Battered
Women's Service and at St. Clare's as a hotline worker.  She has also completed
training as an A.I.D.S. buddy.

   Summer Broncoccio, MA, Ed.M.
   Counselor

   Summer graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Boston University and received her Masters of Arts and Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University in 2007.
She completed her internships at Mount Sinai's Continuing Day Treatment
Program where she worked with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses
and Columbia University's Center for Educational and Psychological Services.
Summer joined the New Views counselor team in September 2008.  She is
currently working toward her licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and
her certification and licensure in addictions counseling (LCADC).

   Michele Hardy
   Administrative Assistant


   In Michele's early career, she worked for the Army/Air Force as a civilian in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Following that she spent 41 years in the corporate arena in NYC, NJ, and CT in Purchasing, Sales, and Management.  She joined New Views in October of 2007 and has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization.

                                 Deborah Kuney
                                 Counselor

                            Deborah has a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Syracuse University.  She moved from Pittsburg, PA where she had a License in Professional Counseling (LPC) and a Certified Addictions Counseling Certificate (CAC).  She has had over twelve years counseling experience that includes working as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and as a Mental Health Clinician.  She also had two years experience working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor assisting consumers with employment.  Deborah started working at New Views in June, 2009.  She is currently working toward her New Jersey LPC and LCADC.

   James Luke
   Information Technology Coordinator


   James joined New Views as the IT Manager in October 2006.  He received his Bachelors of Science from New Jersey City University where he also minored in History.  James expects to receive his A+ certification and his Network certification in February 2009.  In his spare time he coaches a youth hockey program.

   Jacqueline Miller
   Counselor


   Jacqueline joined the New Views family as a counselor in September 2008.  She recently received her Bachelors of Arts (BA) and Masters of Arts (MA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she also minored in music.  Jackie interned at Carrier Clinic Psychiatric Hospital where she worked with adults diagnosed with co-occurring disorders and is currently employed as an On-Call Counselor on the addictions unit.  Jackie is also interested in gaining her licenses as both an addictions counselor (LCADC) and a licensed professional counselor (LPC).  Due to her love of music and psychology she is interested in furthering her education in Music Therapy.

   John Osmundsen, MA, LCADC
   Clinical Program Coordinator

  
John has his Undergraduate Degree in Education and his Masters of Arts in Counseling and Human Services.  He is an LCADC as well as his CCS (Certified Clinical Supervisor), working with the co-occurring population for the past 13 years.  Prior to working at New Views, he worked in the addictions field both inpatient and outpatient, adult and adolescent in Sussex County, NJ.  Supported  by his teaching background, he continues to make presentations within the hospital setting, outpatient programs, and special events.

   Peggy Renkel
   Training Academy
Coordinator

   After supporting the education and training department at New Views from 1997-2001, Peggy returned in July 2008 as the Training Academy Coordinator to manage and provide clinical education coursework for New Views.  Her business experience began in 1980, and continued for fourteen years at Bell Laboratories and Bell Communications Research, where she worked in various
positions including the role of associate manager maintaining current and future
year budgets within a technical research and development area.  She also brings
experience as a research assistant from CPC Behavioral Healthcare-High Point
Schools, a private non-profit special education school for children experiencing
emotional or behavioral disorders.  For the past sixteen years, Peggy has been
extremely active in volunteering her time to many organizations within her local
community, and most recently, completing the Monmouth County Citizens Police
Academy
.

   Kevin Santiago, MA
   Counselor


   Kevin's background in this field rests in internships and through education.  He earned a Bachelor's degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey in Psychology in  August of 2006, and then a Master's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Counseling Psychology, in May of 2008.  He had two internships, one in an inpatient setting for alcohol and drug rehabilitation and one in an outpatient setting for alcohol and drugs of abuse which have prepared him for what is sure to be an  enlightening experience here at New Views.

   Elizabeth Van Ness, MA, LPC, CAS
   Senior Counselor


   Elizabeth (Betty) is a Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology (BA), and a Master's Degree in Counseling (MA).  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC).  She holds a national certification as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS).

Prior to coming to New Views five years ago, she worked as a school nurse, teacher and school counselor for sixteen years.  She has thirty-two years of experience in the field of addictions, working in various inpatient and outpatient facilities, first, as a nurse, and then as an addictions counselor for adolescents and adults.  She has conducted assessments, screenings, individual and group counseling, and implemented treatment plans for individuals with co-occurring disorders.  Teaching is a special passion of hers, and in addition to teaching High School, she has served as an adjunct professor at Montclair State and the College of St. Elizabeth, as well as conducting classes for the NJ Addictions Certification Board, and trainings in co-occurring disorders
for the Greystone Park clinical staff.
